Account Profile AdministrationYou must log into your account before you can change these settings. Site Profile SettingsClick on the Settings tab. Cookie: You can set a cookie so that your own site visits are not logged. Reset hits: You can set the total hits to any value you like. If you really are interested in this statistic, do not reset it. This does not affect any other statistic and changing it is "for entertainment purposes only." HTML Code: The HTML code presented here is the same as the signup landing page. If you make changes, you can copy the code again. This will need to be placed on every page that you want tracked. More details on this code are explained here. Download the ezwebstat.js file and place it on your website. If you place the Javascript file in a folder different than the location of your web pages you are tracking, change the src= tag in the HTML code to show the correct location of the script. It may be simplest to use the full address of the Javascript file in the source (src="http://www.yoursite.ca/scripts/ezwebstat.js") Advanced settingsIP Blocking: if you have a static IP address that you do not want counted in the statistics, enter it here in the form 123.456.789.012. This has the same effect as the blocking cookie. Referrer blocking: you can choose to ignore visitors from specific sources such as google.com. Just enter google.com for Google, yahoo for Yahoo!, aol.com for AOL Search, msn for MSN, etc. Own referrers: you can choose to ignore referrers from your own website. Enter yourdomain.com. Index .* --> / : if your visitors enter the site as www.yourdomain.com/ without speciifying an actual page, you should list your index page here. Enter your index page into this settings box. e.g.: index.html, index.php, index.phtml, start.html, default.htm, etc. Short query: this is used for dynamic websites there the page includes query strings. For example: www.yoursite.net/load.asp?category=12345&style=blue By default, EZ Webstat will strip off everything past the question mark and show statistics for the dynamic page www.yoursite.net/load.asp. If this is how you want to track this page, you do not need to enter anything into the Short query box. If you want to track the complete URL including all variables and session IDs, enter * into the box. If you want to track only a portion of the query, enter only the terms you want tracked. In this example, enter category to track both catergory and style. This will strip off session IDs. In this example, you probably don't care about the style, so just enter category in the Short query box and style would be ignored along with any session IDs. Be sure to save the settings!
